Wanted to catch this one in theaters. I knew it was going to make me cry and it did! With just a date and a sound! Beautiful as always, not as good as Your Name but I liked it better than Weathering With You.
It was snowing pretty heavily but glad I still went, what a fun One Piece movie. They did some different stuff with animation which was fun to see and always a fan of idol plot lines. So much music was in it too! It has a wide US release instead of like 2 showings like usual so I am curious how it will do.
Had no idea about this until a figure showed up on amiami. Then that it was currently airing in the US. Then I thought it was only in Denver but nope it was at the less fancy Cinemark.
Unique story. I cried, mask was soaked. Suzu and her friend were great.
Cinemark lets you rent out an entire theater fro $99 and then pick from a list of about 20 filmes (or $150 for what new movies are airing). Into the Spiderverse was an option. I chose this option
What a beautiful movie! I'm glad I got to see it again in theaters and understand more now why people buy giant tvs.
I tried to get tickets to get this opening weekend to repeat my super enthusiastic audience Frozen 2 experience but by the time I looked on the 11th they were already sold out. The first showing at a reasonable time (not 8am) with a not front row seat was 12 on Sunday. There was one person in a cloak but otherwise the theater was sadly silent.
Trailers were enjoyable but I had already seen all of them except for Black Widow. The Tenet one was fun to see on the giant screen though.
Movie was okay, I didn't get the nostalgia connections and fanservice and that seemed to be what the movie was mainly about. The new droid was cute but apparently D-0 not Dio. Also needed more screen time. It was interesting what they did with Kylo Ren and I was curious how this universe would deal with big bad turning good but then he instantly died so so much for that.
Seeing the table from the Millennium Falcon in the chess scene was fun as I had just sat at that table at Disney not understanding its significance. That whole area of the park had more world building than this movie. Probably because you were already supposed to know the universe. But it would have been fun for every random location they went to to have a couple extra worldbuildery stuff. Even the silly giant name of the place on a establishing shot that other movies do would have been helpful for me to remember what planet was what.
I did read that The Mandalorian was more world builderly so maybe time to watch that,
Was looking for something short to watch while waiting for Bear to clean up her new babies and found this! I had seen ads for it sometime ago, or maybe a kickstarter? Anyway the Ghibli style character design (maybe it was the same character designer?) was intriguing.
It started off slow for me but the characters grew on me especially the broom. Always unexpected body horror in works with young protagonists. Animation was weird at times, not as fluid as I thought it should be.
Always interesting to when they set a film not in Japan but then have them do very Japanese things, like the transfer student introduction :)
Ah the old Oswego Cinema 7. Bathrooms are still unchanged.
Movie was enjoyable, quality highschool tribute at the beginning. The Comic Sans! It was a good follow up to End Game too to explain what was happening with the rest of the world after that movie.
This is interesting, I'll keep watching! I was expecting a Daganropa/999 complete mystery the entire time style plot but the world structure was revealed early on. Or they just want you to think that, I am terrible at noticing things like that!
The 4th episode about isolation though...
I wasn't 100% sold on seeing it, I liked Thor: Ragnarok but Taika didn't direct this and I wasn't 100% sold on Black Panther, maybe 75% sold.
So glad i saw it though!
I avoided all spoilers and trailers! All I knew was:
I enjoyed it greatly! I enjoyed the banter between all the characters. I am sad they killed Drax, Peter, even Mantis! AND GROOT come on all the guardians?!?!
And I 100% expected bad ass bald lady to die but not Tchala!
AND to have Scarlect Witch vaporize Vision then for Thaonos just to bring him back, kill him, then kill her!!!
AND WTF RANDOM RED SKULL hahaha
AND CAPTAIN MARVEL? How is she going to fix all this???????
And what about all the people like….flying airplanes, or cars, that died mid snap, EVERYWHERe. IN THE UNIVERSE.
I hope Loki is alive cause come on Loki!
I'm glad Nebula is at least with Tony in space.
Ok whos dead:
So when everyone was drying, a girl was crying to my left and i was like man they were invested. And they cried a lot!
Then when the lights came on it was like 10 year oldish girl! I felt so bad! It'll be okay! Probably...
What a lovely Pixar film, the Frozen short before it was 10 minutes tooo long though!
