This one was interesting. Really nice animation, weird plot and pacing, sometimes incredibly stupid, sometimes incredibly dark. But definitely unique from other shows. And then used the last episode to answer all the criticism from the first 11.
I hadn't done this in a while so time to watch the first episode of all the new anime without knowing anything about them. SO MANY ISEKAIS
Ningen Fushin: Adventurers Who Don't Believe in Humanity Will Save the World - Suprisingly NOT an isekai but the MC gets fried from the party trope and makes a party of other fired/depressed peeps. I like the premise but didn't really like any of the characters.
TECHNOROID OVERMIND - Classic robot idols, well they randomly decide to become idols. I like that it's in the near future and not too crazy but also what even is this.
The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady - Isekai - I like the MC here though even if she is creeping on the other lead. Theres no game UI element and she seems to just be using her knowledge to get by in the other world without magic.
BUDDY DADDIES - Spy x 2 daddies? In modern Japan though.
Chillin' in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army - Another getting fired premise - I don't like the creeping on the boob girl aspect.
Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for my Retirement - Isekai but different rules for once! And she can teleport back and forth between worlds. But then second episode went way into guns? Not sure if I'll keep up with this one but at least they are doing something different.
The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World - Overpowered MC - I like the worldbuilding but harembuilding is also happening. There's a bunch of sillyness in this one too so might end up actually watching it all.
THE MISFIT OF DEMON KING ACADEMY - LOL overpowered MC - Season 2 of this starts this season but I never watched the first season and binged it. LOL what a MC. It's ridiculous but also had good characters and completely overpowered MC just wants friends and family. Hope that season 2 lives up to season 1.
BY THE GRACE OF THE GODS - Isekai and Season 2 - I watched the first episode of this, kind of weirded out buy old dude in 8 year olds body situation especially when theres a little girl for him to date? Also slime farming.
Handyman Saitou in another world - Isekai, silly premise but its a from a 4 panel comic so a bunch of shorts per episode.
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale - Pretty and fairy slaves - Love the art style, always questionable when they do slavery worlds but this one doesn't seem to go the routes of just buying slaves and then slavery isn't mentioned again. Maybe it will actually be adressed.
Revenger - End of samurai period + Nagasaki - This one is interesting because I was just there but also a setting I haven't seen before in anime. Not sure if I'll watch more but interesting characters.
The tale of outcasts - demons in London with angst - This one is interesting, I like the main characters and I'm curious to see where it will go.
The Reincarnation Of The Strongest Exorcist In Another World - Isekai and they are OP - I like the traditional Japanese spirit stuff going on, curious to see what will happen at magic school.
BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. - Playing a video came + overpowered MC - I think season 2 is airing or not sure how this one got in but it's cute and I like the sillyness of the MC causing the gamedevs strife with the weird playstyle.
Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire - Overpowered MC /Reincarnation - Not sure if this is isekaiy but I don't like that its like a 90 year old man in a young girls body. Maybe it will redeem itself but ehhh.
Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skills - Isekai - LOL quality skill of online grocery. I like how this one is set up. Guess this genre really can be infinite if they just write it well.
Recommended from the Bofuri comments for chill female MC isekais. I liked the premise and the slice of lifeness but some of MC's actions and choices were weird. I think this is getting season 2 but not sure if I want to watch it. Sudden daughter adoption and housebuilding seemed like a weird turn.
What a great concert, they were amazing live and so many instruments!!! Found new songs I love by them also rediscovered some I had loved and had been lost (Nothing's Over)
Watching the first episode of this to see how it was and ended up binging the whole season. MC was good and nice to see a twist like this on an isekai. It was fun too that it wasn't just straight up generic magic world and had robots and airships too.
I completed something!
Artemis 1 launches tomorrow (hopefully) so figured I should at least finish season one before that
Watching launches is stressful but the character development and alternate history building are great. Let's see how long it takes me to watch season 2
This was an outdoor event put on by Off The Hook Arts and just really nice to go to a concert again! Let's try and remember the songs, they are definitely out of order because I'm just listening to them on Spotify to find them.
Did not expect to see so many intestines. It was nice to learn about a new mythology for once and the god designs were really cool. I didn't expect the last episode to be such a lead into season 2 so waiting for that now.
Yes for badass girl team, boo for me being an idiot about lore characters. Rip the spaceship
The time watched is wrong as I watched this in two chunks sleeping in between but otherwise close enough to an eight hour block.
I watched a bit of Jesse playing The Witcher 3 and some of the characters but otherwise really nothing going into this. I enjoyed the first couple of episodes, exposition is fun and establishing the world in different places was nice. Watching it on the computer was nice as I could just easily mute the jump scare parts which there were a bunch of but I guess the monsters were scary so it was fitting.
I liked Geralt, young Yennefer, Ciri, everyone really. Her grandma was extremely badass. There did get to be a bit too much of Yennefer in the later episodes when I really just wanted more of the others but I get they were setting up things.
I liked the continuity trick, usually I get upset when things are out of order but this didn't reveal it until the wedding scene.
Overall I liked it and will watch the next season, but more for small missions and less giant wizard battles. Although if mostly everyone is dead now maybe that solves that.
Reminded me of Kemono friends with the resurrections besides the animation style. I thought it was odd the translators chose to have Wakaba say he was human when he was saying 人 in Japanese. I don't think someone saying "I'm a person" is an odd response. Then he wasn't human later on? Was he a plant? Who wasn't a plant? Who was he building plant buildings and mountains for?
I liked all the sisters, I wish the older ones got more screen time as they were more fun. Shiro was a good bug robot and I am glad he made it to the end.
More exposition would be nice but I am also okay with just not having any. Better than giant exposition dumps.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KemurikusaI have never watched any original She-Ra so I figured I would see how this Netflix Series was. I thought the shading on the face was a bit weird and Catra's overall personality was grating to me, but she was probably meant to be that way.
The world building was a bit empty as the world, Bright Moon had like 4 people living in it, why was it so hard to capture?
Robot Nerd Princess was cool to see, and was her hair her power? Or her hair was just alive? Lots of questions there.
Overall it was alright, it would be nice to see some more world building in the second series.
The original She-ra was on Netflix too so I watched the first episode. HOW RIDICULOUS ARE THESE OLD CARTOONS???? Just everything about Adam/He-man. And the cat. And its named Cringer? And what is Bow's outfit even supposed to be. AND THE VOICES. I didn't watch episode two.
I have Disney XD with my youtube TV subscription and figured why not record this show so I can finally watch the whole thing! It was a good mix of sillyness and actual plot.
I watched a bunch of first episodes of new fall anime with no idea what they going to be about.
Your typical space fishing anime with cute girls. I made it through the cat selfie montage but stopped when she accidently ended up in space. TOO MUCH.
The art style made me suspicious but then the opening confirmed this would be a rapey BL show. Made it to the opening.
This one was surprisingly fun. Set in some weird steampunk/future America? It was silly and bright.
Gratuitous to be gratuitous.
Set up some completely ridiculous arranged marriage to a fluffy thing and boom credits. Why did space fishing get a 24 minute long show and this one gets 3 minutes. qq
Moe girls who meet vampire moe girls. And the opening was all about kissing? I'll never understand.
Shonen black clover/fairy tale thing but the main character just has to be an idiot. Character designs are somewhat interesting.
Ignoring the title, this main character was not an idiot for once and it was refreshing. Maybe bakemonogatarish?
Trigger being Trigger? The backgrounds were beautifully detailed and gratuitous beautiful animation? I'll watch a couple more.
Slime main character is pretty cute, I read a bunch on this story before. Seems to be well done.
I clicked on this thinking it would be some Kyoto based reverse harem but so far only one guy! And its low key mystery solving! The animation isn't the best but it might be interesting enough to keep watching. Learning random Kyoto facts too!
Rage of Bahamuty with more politics and MCs with girlfriends?!
A ton of exposition thrown out in the first episode, but the second one wasn't as bad.
Welll...its not BL? And hes a butler? And the student council president? And has magical powers? And will end up working in a butler cafe? And his little sister loves him?! Why not just be all the tropes! OH yeah time travel?
Well when I saw this was called Caligula, I didn't think anything good would come of it. I saw a Crunchyroll twitter ad talking about idols taking over so I figured why not. MC has no idea what is going on and I don't either. Getting some really Serial Experiments Lain type vibe from it which I think is good. I thought it might go into the horror genre but it stayed out of it for this episode besides some screen flashes. Hopefully it won't go full horror like Sunshine did but I am okay with fucked up digital stuff!
Nendonow had that he really liked this on his Instagram so I figured why not try this one too! It is a really interesting setup with a chill Yakuza guy and chill Hina. AND SHE LOVES IKURA. AND THERE ARE IKURA BOWLS. I HAD NO IDEA. I LOOKED UP THE PRICE AND ITS LIKE $15 THATS NOT TOO BAD. NEW FOOD GOAL!
Also it has an interesting set up I am curious where this one will go.
The opening of this is great. I didn't enjoy episode 2 as much, Mana did come across as kind of useless although she did save the day. What I thought was murder vampire yokai from the opening turned out to be a cat girl. Guess I was letting Overlord influence me too much there, this is a kids show after all.
This looks like it will be a fun monster of the week type thing, maybe Mana can become useful? Yokai are always fun too.
This episode was weird, I kept expecting horrible face melting but we just got chill Rohan face removing!
I couldn't decide who to root for, the three idiots? The murderer? The hand?!
Always good to watch some sitcom slapstick severed hand comedy.
This is extremely silly. I'll watch all of it.
Yokai are fun. Well animated silly yokai with tree body horror is funner! Also getting mad Nishiko-kun vibes from the Yokai in this....
Really fun theme song!
Rohan Kishibe's Adventure
Shigechi's Harvest, Part 1
Shigechi's Harvest, Part 2
Not enough Jotaro or grampa Joe, weird character development episodes? Rohan ghost one was alright, Shigechi though...didn't make any of them more likeable! I realized that Okuyasu has Billion (Oku) written on his arm...and that it means billion...and then its his name....haha!
ALSO THE HANDS
A lot of people were saying this was a great show so I thought I would check it out. The first episode had a Walter Mitty vibe which I really liked. Always good to be inspired to go do things! The animation was also beautiful and the backgrounds and settings made it seem like an actual place in Japan, even though I didn't see an exact city name.
I was just planning on checking out the first episode with Antarcticite, then I was drawn in and watched them all. Why are you so likeable with your character development Phos! Considering buying the manga, or definately a quest item next Japan trip!
Found this on youtube with some crazy get around the takedown graphics happening but what a crazy story! To think they could figure out the electronics were shorting based on holes in the background noise is impressive! Also of course 150 people reported seeing a missile hitting the plane.
Watched this again with Kater, I had never watched the last three episodes when it was airing. I kind of regret watching them, it was a better show without seeing those final epsiodes.
JJ, my cousin, how did you lose your shit that badly?!?! And Yurio's kiss and cry scene wasn't even shown?! And then it just ends like that?!?!? Like what?! For the same routines they showed over and over again, they could have cut some of that down and added 15 minutes more content to the finale that it needed. Everything just seemed so rushed!
I ended up watching 8 episodes of this show. The first four were so oddly paced, the MC does strange things, things don't follow the normal genre tropes. And with all that it's just so...generic?
I will probably watch more of this.
12 episodes, the last one was 40 minutes long and I didn't even notice. My god, the world building was great! Characters likeable and great, animation beautiful and unique with the different styles for the creatures in the world. And the gore D: and Mitty D:
